Ingredients:
- 2 stalks of fresh lemongrass (or substitute with dried lemongrass or lemongrass tea bags)
- 2 cups of water
- Optional: Honey or lemon to enhance flavor
Directions:
Prep the Lemongrass
Peel off the tough outer layers of the fresh lemongrass stalks.
Trim and cut the tender inner part into 2 to 3-inch sections.
Lightly crush the pieces with the flat side of a knife to help release their aroma and oils.
Brew the Tea
Put the crushed lemongrass into a small saucepan with 2 cups of water.
Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
Serve and Enjoy
Take the pot off the heat and strain the tea into a cup.
Add honey or a dash of lemon juice if desired, then sip and enjoy—either hot or iced.
Health Benefits:
Lemongrass tea may aid digestion, help relieve stress, and offers antioxidant properties.
Its light citrusy flavor makes it a soothing drink any time of day.
